How did this all start?
Oneida Commons Vendor Mall is located in the old Agway building in downtown Oneida. We converted the storefront into a Vendor Mall and opened the doors in August of 2008. With 3000sf of retail space and only 4 vendors, we jumped in with two feet and haven't looked back! Almost six years later, we've grown beyond anything we could've expected! We now have 7000sf of retail space and approximately 40 vendors! What a journey it has been!
I grew up in Oneida and moved back in 2005 with my husband and 2 kids. After years of living in Baltimore and Massachusetts, we moved back to raise our children closer to family and to enjoy the benefits of living in a close-knit, small community. I had been a stay-at-home mom, but when my kids started school, I decided I wanted to get more involved in the community, with an emphasis on downtown.
This property became available and I saw an opportunity to try to bring foot-traffic into downtown. I bought the property in late 2007 with the intention of developing the warehouse behind our store. I was actually going to sell the front building (our current Vendor Mall) and build an indoor turf field for baseball, soccer, etc. (for winter months) and a Flea Market (for summer months). So, I advertised for Vendors for a SUMMER market and had so much interest in Year-Round space that I changed my plans and started Oneida Commons. Look where we are today!
Now, you can enjoy our Vendors ALL YEAR. No matter the season, our Indoor Market has something for everyone!
